Sandy Springs Lantern Parade 'Takes It To The River' Saturday
Participants will it "Take It to the River" as they parade from Steel Canyon Golf Club to Morgan Falls Overlook Park with colorful lanterns.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Light up a summer night in a most colorful and whimsical way at the fourth annual Sandy Springs Lantern Parade. This year’s event takes place Saturday, June 15, from 7:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. Participants will it “Take It to the River” as they parade from Steel Canyon Golf Club, 460 Morgan Falls Road, to Morgan Falls Overlook Park with colorful lanterns lighting up the night. The festivities continue at the park with music and a lighted floating parade as High Country Outfitters escorts select lanterns into the river creating a unique display of light and lanterns. The event is free for all to participate.
New this year is the arrival of Sanderson, a flying pig lantern, a nod to the city’s efforts to incorporate, harkening back to the pre-cityhood sentiment that Sandy Springs would become a city when pigs fly. Sanderson will lead this year’s parade along with a Swoop of Pigs comprised of residents who are walking with their own flying pig lanterns.
Refreshments will be available for purchase from Steel Canyon and Chick-Fil-A within the kick-off area at Steel Canyon.
