Sandy Springs Police To Host National Night Out
This free community event will be held Tuesday, Aug. 7 at City Springs.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — This year's annual National Night Out celebration in Sandy Spring will kick off the opening season at City Springs.
This free, family-friendly event hosted by the Sandy Springs Police and Fire-Rescue departments will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7 on the City Springs Green and Festival Row.
National Night Out brings together law enforcement and the people they protect, and will feature Sandy Springs and area agencies' public safety vehicles, as well as water slides, inflatable playgrounds and giant hamster balls. Of course, this community event will allow residents to get to know their police officers, firefighters and police K-9s.

"City Springs was created as a central gathering place for the community. We’re fortunate that our public safety personnel have enjoyed a strong, positive relationship with our residents," Mayor Rusty Paul said. "As we officially open City Springs as a community center point, it is fitting we begin with a much-enjoyed event."

Refreshments will be served at the event. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. It's designed to strengthen the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, while bringing back a true sense of community, providing a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out event across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August. Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and more.
