Two Men Charged Following Armed Robbery of T-Mobile Store
Two people were arrested Wednesday afternoon following the robbery of a cellphone store in Sandy Springs, according to Sandy Springs Police.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA – Two people were arrested Wednesday afternoon following the robbery of a cellphone store in Sandy Springs, according to Sandy Springs Police.
Just before noon, police were dispatched to a T-Mobile store at 5650 Roswell Road for a report of an armed robbery that had just happened, according to the police department news release.
Following an investigation, police determined the suspects entered the store wearing face masks and holding handguns. The suspects took four store employees to the back of the store and tied them with zip-ties, police said. The suspects then stole cellphones and vehicle keys from one of the employees. According to police, one of the suspects attempted to steal the employee's vehicle, but left it running in the parking lot for unknown reasons.

Officers spotted the suspects driving in the area of Mount Vernon Highway and Hammond Drive. When the car attempted to turn onto Heards Ferry Road, it crashed into a vehicle that was stopped at the traffic light at the intersection, police said. The suspects then hit another vehicle before continuing to drive on Mt. Vernon Highway until their car became disabled, police said.
The suspects then got out of the vehicle and ran in different directions towards the neighborhood, according to the police report. One suspect was quickly apprehended. A second suspect was found hiding behind a. home within the River Shore Estates Subdivision.

The suspects have been identified as Tarris Young, 33 from Union City, and Zacchaeus Tillman, 23. from Atlanta. Both were charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and possession of a firearm.
All of the stolen property was recovered and no serious injuries were reported.
