Sandy Springs To Revamp Busy Intersection
The City of Sandy Springs will host an Aug. 30 hearing to present plans for the intersection of Johnson Ferry Road and Mount Vernon Highway.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The City of Sandy Springs will host a public information open house on Thursday, Aug. 30, to share concepts developed to improve the intersection of Johnson Ferry Road and Mount Vernon Highway. Residents can review the concepts, ask questions and provide input.
The meeting will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be a short presentation at 6:15 p.m. followed by the open house. The event will be at Sandy Springs City Hall, at 1 Galambos Way.
The purpose of the project is to enhance safety, improve operational efficiency, reduce traffic accidents and minimize congestion delays at the intersection. The current configuration results in multiple turning movements, side-street spillover, insufficient turning lane capacity and excessive congestion.
