Sandy Springs Sewer Line Gets Work Done

Avoid the intersection of Hammond Drive and Roswell Road until they're done.

From Fulton County: At this hour, crews from the Fulton County Public Works Department are on the scene to repair damage to a sewer line near the intersection of Hammond Drive and Roswell Road in the City of Sandy Springs. A sewer spill in that area was stopped at 12:45 this afternoon and all sewage is back within the pipe system. The sewer lines now require immediate repairs and Fulton County crews are in the process of moving in additional equipment and resources.

In the interim, drivers should avoid this intersection until further notice. Motorists should follow the posted detour signage to route around the impacted area. The signal at the intersection has been adjusted with restrictions on southbound and westbound left turns. Hammond Drive is now closed to all traffic between Highway 9 (Roswell Road) and Boylston Road. Crews are still in the process of assessing how long the repairs will take and the extent of damage to the pipe system and roadway.
