Sandy Springs Submits Potential T-SPLOST Project List

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Sandy Springs City Council approved on Tuesday an Intergovernmental Agreement with Fulton County for the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, known as T-SPLOST, Referendum.

All cities in Fulton County, except Atlanta, must submit their potential T-SPLOST projects to Fulton County. Fulton County will create a final list in July. If authorized, the vote will take place on Nov. 2.

Residents throughout Fulton County will have the opportunity to vote on a five year T-SPLOST referendum to fund transportation projects in municipalities throughout the county. The T-SPLOST referendum would extend the existing 0.75 percent (3/4 of a cent) sales tax approved by voters in 2016. If approved, the sales tax collection period will be April 1, 2022-March 31, 2027.

On November 8, 2016, Fulton County voters, including Sandy Springs, approved the T-SPLOST a referendum to fund transportation improvements within the participating cities. The 0.75 percent (3/4 of a cent) sales tax collection began in April 2017 to fund T-SPLOST transportation projects. Collections for this program will end on March 31, 2022.

The public provided feedback on the proposed T-SPLOST projects during the Transportation Master Plan Public Input Process in January, and the T-SPLOST Public Input Process in April.
