Some Job Markets Are Strong in Sandy Springs

Metro Atlanta's unemployment rate rose to 8.9 percent in June.

Even though metro Atlanta’s unemployment rate rose in June, there are some job markets that are strong in Sandy Springs.

“We have seen an increase in temp-to-perm orders and customers hiring on directly,” said Emily Carlson, senior area vice president for Randstad. “Contracts for candidates that are on the contract to hire process are being bought out early, so the client can get them onto their payroll quicker.”

The state labor department reported last week that metro Atlanta’s unemployment rate rose to 8.9 percent in June, compared to May’s 8.2 percent.
