Volunteer Donates Handcrafted Jewelry to CAC Thrift Shop

CAC's thrift shop has an in-house jeweler! CAC volunteer Peggy Middendorf creates and donates beautiful jewelry to the thrift shop.

Community Assistance Center’s thrift shop, Upscale Thrift, has an in-house jeweler!

CAC volunteer Peggy Middendorf has been creating beautiful jewelry pieces for fifteen years. She enjoys the creative aspect of jewelry making. Peggy also enjoys volunteering at Upscale Thrift where she works on the retail floor. In addition to her regular job as a recruiter, she spends two days a week donating her time and talents to CAC.

Peggy, a Sandy Springs resident, says that one of her favorite things about volunteering is the time she spends with fellow volunteers. Recently Peggy brought some of her earrings to CAC to give as gifts to her fellow volunteers. When Kimia Ansari, the thrift shop assistant manager, picked out some earrings for herself, she then jokingly grabbed up all of the remaining jewelry for the store. Peggy not understanding politely suggested that a gift of a pair or two was what she had in mind. Kimia, with a hand full of earrings, asked Peggy if she would be willing to donate some of her earrings to sell in the store. Peggy smiled and readily agreed. Peggy buys all her own materials for her jewelry. She also donates to Every Woman Works, another local non-profit organization.
