Serial Robbers Scared Off By Armed Customer: Report

ACWORTH, GA — Two serial robbers are on the run again after a botched attempt at hitting an Atlanta Waffle House Saturday morning, according to reports, where an armed customer fired at them. Surveillance video shows the duo scrambling out of the door.

This is at least the ninth armed robbery committed by these two suspects and a third, spanning from Decatur to Conyers. They've hit several Waffle Houses, Family Dollars, a CVS and a Walgreens.

"The biggest concern of ours is that they’re violent and so far we’ve been very, very unfortunate. And we’re hoping that it doesn’t get to the point where someone does get hurt seriously," said FBI Atlanta Public Affairs Specialist Kevin Rowson, Channel 2 News reported.

One robber in particular keeps popping up in the surveillance footage of these establishments. He consistently wears a black hoodie with "Been Broke Before" in white lettering.

The FBI released data on all of the robberies:

• On January 8, 2018, the Family Dollar store located at 4960 Roosevelt Highway, Union City, GA was robbed at gunpoint by three unidentified black males.
• On January 12, 2018, the Family Dollar store located at 3985 Flat Shoals Road, Union City, GA was robbed at gunpoint by at least two males.
• On January 14, 2018, the Family Dollar store located at 1163 West Avenue, Conyers, GA was robbed at gunpoint by two males.
• On January 18, 2018, the Waffle House restaurant located at 766 DeKalb Industrial Way, Decatur, GA was robbed at gunpoint by one male.
• On January 18, 2018, the Waffle House restaurant located at 4274 Lavista Road, Tucker, GA was robbed at gunpoint by a lone male.
• On January 19, 2018, the Family Dollar store located at 4226 Washington Road, East Point, GA was robbed at gunpoint by two males.
• On January 23, 2018, the CVS Pharmacy located at 5764 Peachtree Blvd., Chamblee, GA was robbed at gunpoint by three males.
• On January 23, 2018, the Walgreens located at 7530 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, GA, was robbed at gunpoint by three males.
• On February 3, 2018, the Waffle House restaurant located at 1133 Highway 92, Acworth, GA, was nearly robbed at gunpoint by two males.

Witness descriptions of the suspects are similar, including the clothing worn by the robbers, the FBI said:

• Robber #1: Black male wearing a black skull cap, red scarf covering his face, a brown and plaid striped jacket and black pants.
• Robber #2: Black male wearing a black mask, black hoodie with the words “Been Broke Before”, and red sweat pants.
• Robber #3: Black male wearing a black fitted cap, hoodie, gray pants with rips and black and white shoes.
