Weekender Sandy Springs Festival, 'A Few Good Men,' Run/Walk Events and More

See what's happening in Sandy Springs and nearby this weekend.

  • Foodie Fridays. Enjoy the gourmet food truck with all kinds of cuisines and food options from the Atlanta Street Food Coalition, 5:30 – 8 p.m. at Kudzu and Company, 6450 Roswell Road.  Randy Chapman and his blues band perform Friday.
  • Sandy Springs Festival. The fun includes arts and crafts, inflatables, a petting zoo, face painting, an artists market and more.The annual event is kicked off by the 10K and 5K races at 7:30 a.m. and 7:50 a.m., respectively, Saturday. The Festival is held at Heritage Green, 6075 Sandy Springs Circle. Festival hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday; and 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday. Tickets are $5 for Adults (age 18+) and $2 for Youth (ages 6 – 17).  Children ages 5 and under and Heritage Sandy Springs Members are free. Two-day passes are also available for adults ($7) and youth ($3). 
  • “A Few Good Men.” Act 3 playhouse stages the drama about the murder trial of two Marines in Guantanamo Bay raises questions about the Marine code of conduct and the military establishment which are still surprisingly relevant in today’s political climate. The play runs Friday through Sept. 28.
  • Atlanta Prostate Cancer Walk and Celebration. 7 a.m., Saturday, at Perimeter Mall
  • Kids Fall Consignment Sale. Shop for great deals on children's fall and winter clothing, toys, books, baby equipment, and more. Proceeds support the missions ofKingswood United Methodist Church. 5 p.m., Thursday; 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Friday; 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday. 5015 Tilly Mill Road. 
  • Atlanta Symphony Orchestra at Chastain. The ASO with music director Robert Spano and guest conductor Donald Runnicles, 8 p.m., Friday. Doors open at 7 p.m. Click here for ticket prices
