Welcoming Your Baby the Montessori Way

Springmont, Atlanta's First Montessori School, invites new parents and soon-to-be parents to join Toddler Teacher Remzije Shala and Toddler/Primary Division Head Cara Friedline to hear about ways you can make your home inviting, not overwhelming, to your newest or soon-to-arrive family member. Provide the right stuff, not just more stuff, and learn to stimulate your baby through playful games and easy activities while respecting his/her developing skills.

Part 1: Preparing Your Home - Friday, January 31, 8:45 a.m.

• Setting up a child-focused bedroom
• Feeding, sleeping, and caring for your baby’s physical needs
• Inviting siblings to participate as caregivers

Part 2: Playing with Your Baby - Friday, February 7, 8:45 a.m.

• Activities that support ever-changing skills
• Preparing for movement
• Inviting siblings to be playmates
• Matching your pace to your child
