Cobb Schools To Seek Public Input On New Middle School
Cobb County School District plans to hold a public input meeting regarding attendance zones for the new Susan T. Pearson Middle School.
MARIETTA, GA — Cobb County School District parents will have a chance to share their thoughts on attendance zones for the new Susan T. Pearson Middle School opening for the 2021-22 school year.
The district is set to hold two public input meetings Thursday, Jan. 28 regarding proposed attendance zones for the new school, Smyrna City Council Member Tim Gould said via Facebook Saturday. The new school is located on the site formerly known as Horizon High School.
"The new middle school will positively impact the over-crowding issue at both Campbell Middle and Griffin Middle ... at least temporarily," Gould said in his Facebook post.

CCSD came under fire in 2019 for delays in beginning construction of the new middle school, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. At the time, Campbell Middle School parents said construction needed to move faster as the student body at the school was 300 students over capacity.
