Georgia Trust Offers Grant To Rehab Historic Sites

The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation is offering up to $10,000 to those willing to rehab protected structures in the state.

ATLANTA, GA -- Nonprofit or government organizations thinking of rehabbing a historic property in Georgia may qualify for up to $10,000, courtesy of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation. The trust is accepting applications for its new Callahan Incentive Grant, which will give funds to groups undertaking the rehabilitation of a historic building or site anywhere in the state.

The grant, named after longtime Georgia Trust supporters Barbara and Les Callahan, has a postmark deadline set for postmark Friday, July 21.

To be eligible, sites must be listed or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Grants also will require a dollar-for-dollar match, either in cash or volunteer work hours.
