SMYRNA, GA — As we move away from the Christmas holiday, some residents may be looking to remove their Christmas trees. There are three ways to remove your trees in Smyrna.

Smyrna residents can bring their live Christmas trees to the 30th annual Bring One for the Chipper Christmas tree recycling event, as part of the Keeping Smyrna Beautiful initiative. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Home Depot, 2450 Cumberland Parkway SE, Atlanta.

All participants in the Bring One for the Chipper event will be asked to remain in their cars for safety reasons, according to the city of Smyrna. Volunteers will be on-site to unload the trees. All decorations, ornaments, lights and bases must be removed from the live tree.
