In Loving Memory of Rev. Aleck George Poolos, 86

Rev. Aleck George Poolos age 86 of Marietta, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 . Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, July 29th at Bethany United Methodist Church with Reverends Chip Wilson, Jim Lowry, and Bill Childers officiating. The body will lie in state from 12 to 1 PM at the church. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery in Atlanta following the service. Rev. Poolos was a retired United Methodist Minister serving with the North Georgia Conference for 34 years. He was preceded in death by his son Ted Poolos. Surviving are: His loving wife of 66 years- Joyce, Son & Daughter-in-law Tim & Susan Poolos of Marietta, 2 Grandchildren-Emily & Dean Poolos, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 760 Hurt Rd., Smyrna, GA 30082. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, July 28th at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna.
