SMYRNA-VININGS, GA — At the Atlanta Braves' home opener April 9 against the Philadelphia Phillies, fans will be welcomed back to Truist Park for the first time since October 2019.

The Braves will reopen the stadium at 33 percent capacity to start the 2021 season, the team announced Friday, accounting for about 13,500 of Truist Park's 41,000 seats. Capacity limits will be revisited for each home game as the coronavirus pandemic continues to evolve.

“After a long and difficult year, we are excited to welcome Braves fans back to Truist Park beginning on April 9th,” said Derek Schiller, president and CEO of the Braves, in a press release. “Baseball has had a healing affect over the course of our history, and we look forward to be a place where our fans can come, have fun and enjoy cheering on their favorite team in a welcoming environment.”

Modified seating will be done in socially-distanced pods around the ballpark, primarily in two- and four-fan groups. Other health and safety precautions will be enforced, including wearing a mask when not actively eating or drinking, contactless experience with mobile ticketing and ordering and enhanced sanitation.

Fans who previously bought tickets to the 14 home games in April will have the purchases credited back to their accounts, regardless of if they are season-ticket holders or single-game ticket buyers, the Braves said. Those fans will have options for the re-ticketing of the games.

Season-ticket holders will have an opportunity to purchase tickets to all 14 games in April and secure seats in socially distanced pods, the release said. They will have priority access to a single-game presale if they decide not to purchase tickets to all the home games; can use their credit toward future regular season home games in 2021; apply it to their All-Star Game invoice (if applicable) or request a refund.

Single-game ticket buyers will gain access to a single-game presale to purchase tickets for any April home games, have the option to use their credit toward future regular season home games this year or request a refund.

After the presale for those who already purchased tickets for April home games, a ticket sale will be available to the general public March 30 at 10 a.m. at the Braves' ticket website here.
