Founding member Bruce Cook told the news outlet that financial reasons were leading to the closure of the club that has hosted numerous events, civic club meetings and weddings through the years while offering breathtaking views of Atlanta's skyline.

“There are new owners taking over and they’re putting several thousands of dollars of renovations in,” Cook told the newspaper. “I don’t know if they wanted the Vinings Club to upgrade or use the Vinings Club space for their office space to rent.”
