Smyrna Police: Man Posing as Charter Communications Tech

A Charter Communications rep advises that every Charter technician will arrive in a marked vehicle with the Charter Communications logo.

Patch Staff Report

The Smyrna Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a person who is possibly posing as a Charter Communications technician.

A victim told authorities that last week a thin black male, standing approximately 5-foot-9, and driving a white van, arrived to work on the cable at the victim’s residence. After a few moments inside the home, the “technician” stated that a new cable box was needed and left.

The victim received a phone call a short time later from a Charter Communications technician advising that he was on his way to handle the service request. The male that was at the victim’s house first never returned and it is believed that this person is an imposter.
