What's Open and Closed in Smyrna, Cobb on Thanksgiving

Today is the last day this week you can handle any affairs with city and county government entities due to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

Both City of Smyrna and Cobb County offices will close on Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27 to observe the holiday, though public safety personnel will still be on the job.

The city and county have also adjusted trash pick up this week to accommodate the observance.

Other entities that are changing their hours of operation for the holiday are as follows:

• Smyrna Public Library - will close at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25 instead of 8:00 p.m. and will remain closed for Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27.
• Parks & Recreation - all facilities will be closed for business on November 26 and 27, but returning to regular weekend hours on November 28 and 29.
• Police Department - permits office will close at noon on Wednesday, November 25, 2015. Records will be open.
