Local singer songwriter D.B. Patterson on his album The Prophet of Doom".

The Prophet of Doom, the new album by D.B. Patterson, a singer-songwriter who resides in Smyrna, is a product of these times.
Tracks featured include:
- The Prophet of Doom – A song that inspired by the anxiety of America during the pandemic. Dee, dee, dee, dee baby…we will see this through.
- Ruled by Fear – The United States under President Trump. Now we’re ruled by fear.
- I Wanted to Be a Rocker – For all of those older rockers who never quite “made it”.
- The Levy Won’t Hold – Climate change is real and will wreak havoc on this world. Climate change deniers must stop standing in the way of efforts to combat climate change.
- Instant Gratification – Flirtatious fun. No one wants to wait too long, too much aggravation.
- Pandemic 2020 – We’ve seen so much change, in such a short time. Some are struggling financially. People on the front lines risk their very lives, trying to hang on desperately. How many more people are going to die?
- I’ll Be Holding You – A sweet song of reassurance for your loved one(s).
- I Won’t Let My Spirit Die – The song is about moving on from a failed romantic relationship and keeping positive.
- Owen Moore – Inspired by an actual epitaph on a tombstone, this song is about those who struggle but never quite to seem to get ahead. It resonates with the economic hardships we are facing.
- Empty Streets – Empty Streets is a song written during the lockdown. People sheltering in place and there were fewer cars on the road and fewer pedestrians downtown; but the air is cleaner, and there is a peacefulness that can be appreciated.
If you like classic rock, you will like The Prophet of Doom. The album was recorded at The Afterdark Studio in Cartersville. Donny Hammonds, the owner of the studio, who is a highly regarded professional musician, is featured playing lead guitar, keyboards and bass. He also arranged the percussion.
