Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. presents free health fair

The PEARL Foundation Inc. and Rho Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. present the 2nd Annual "Pretty Healthy Fair"

The Pretty Healthy Fair hosted by the Rho Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the PEARL Foundation Inc. returns September 15th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the South Cobb Recreation Center (875 Riverside Parkway, Austell, GA 30168). This second annual event will offer free services such as health screenings, HIV testing, cooking and fitness demonstrations, and education for the community.

"We encourage everyone to come to this family friendly event," said Lauren Johnson, event coordinator. "Not only will you gain valuable information to enhance your health, but it will also put you face to face with healthcare professionals. You can ask questions and get the resources you need to improve your wellness."

Additionally, residents will be able to register for Dashing Through the Square 5k, a Peachtree Qualifying Race taking place on December 15th at the Marietta Square. This race, also hosted by the PEARL Foundation Inc. and Rho Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., helps to provide funding for scholarships and other community initiatives benefiting Cobb County.

Angela Bowers, Rho Zeta Omega chapter president, said, "Our sorority's international program – ‘Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service’ - includes a focus on women's health and wellness. From doctors to dentists to personal trainers, the Pretty Healthy Fair will have multiple resources under one roof. Our purpose is to educate our community about healthier living so they can live their lives to the fullest."
