Amazon Launches Same-Day Delivery in Atlanta
The new service is available for the city and surrounding suburbs.

Online shopping site Amazon launched same-day delivery for the Atlanta metro area on Tuesday.
The Seattle-based company said that the service is available for orders placed as late as noon in Atlanta, Alpharetta, Kennesaw, Marietta, and Mableton. Customers with a “prime” membership will pay $5.99 per order, while those without will pay $8.99 per order, plus 99 cents per item.
The service marks the latest initiative in retailers’ attempts to quicken delivery time. Other stores have offered “order online, pick up in stores” techniques, while Amazon previously announced a delivery system using drones to drop of packages in 30 minutes or less called “Prime Air.”
