Cinco De Mayo Specials Plentiful Around Metro Atlanta

Ready for the Friday, May 5 fiesta? Check out these Cinco de Mayo food and drink specials around metro Atlanta.

WEST COBB, GA -- Cinco de Mayo is around the corner and so are the many fiestas that will take place across metro Atlanta. While the holiday celebrates Mexico's independence day, it has also become a time to party -- fiesta -- for Americans weary from the rugged work week and trying to make it to Memorial Day.

Where are the specials, you ask? In all four corners of metro Atlanta, from Cobb to Fulton and DeKalb. Here are several eateries offering the Cinco de Mayo goods on Friday and into the weekend:

Chuy’s in Akers Mill is in the midst of a three-day celebration that will cater to SunTrust Park event-goers and all other patrons of the popular Tex-Mex eatery. Deals will include a $1 discount on Corona and Corona Light, on Thursday, May 4. On Friday, diners can get all-day happy hour drink specials. And $5 Tito’s Bloody Marys on Saturday.

At Atlantic Station in Midtown, two restaurants -- Rosa Mexicano and Atlantic Grill -- are partnering with Avion Tequila and Riazul Tequila for a Cinco De Mayo fiesta that includes themed beverage packages and unique Mexican fare.

Entertainment on Friday, May 5 will include a Mariachi Jaliciense performing in Central Park beginning at 5:00 p.m. Patrons can also enjoy free salsa lessons by Julian Mejia of SALSAtlanta starting at 6 p.m. Then, Latin duo HavanaSon will perform from 7 to 9 p.m.

At select locations around metro Atlanta, Bahama Breeze is hosting its Caribbean “fiesta” to celebrate Cinco de Mayo by serving its Classic Margaritas for $5 during the first five days of May. The eatery has restaurants in Kennesaw and Duluth.

At Colony Square in Midtown, Cinco de Mayo on The Square also marks the first day of Street Eats on The Square, a weekly food truck event. Friday will feature live entertainment from a Mariachi band, margaritas provided by Establishment, and street eats served by Yumbii, The Blaxican, Let’s Taco Bout It food trucks among others. The series will take place every Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through October 27.

The Georgia Aquarium will host a Sips By the Sea party on May 5, featuring music, signature cocktails and delicious small plates.

At the Avalon entertainment complex in Alpharetta, Cinco de Mayo festivities will include outdoor bar and live mariachi band beginning at 5 p.m.

In Midtown, chef Hector Santiago’s will transform El Super Pan, his Ponce City Market sandwich shop, into Burro Pollo, a one-day pop-up serving burritos and margaritas from 5 p.m. to close.

Huey Luey's three metro Atlanta locations in Acworth, Hiram and Sandy Springs, will serve drink specials, including Texas Margarita Buckets for $15 and Modelo and $3 Tecate beer.
