Long before the pandemic, eviction numbers across the country were staggering, leaving school district officials struggling to serve children frequently on the move. The coronavirus and its associated economic shocks will exacerbate this long-standing problem, further disrupting students whose lives and learning progress have already been upended by school closures.
.In response to Covid 19, I commend you for spearheading your organizations efforts to such as providing food and delegating resources to prevent homelessness during this time. We are concerned about the eviction moratorium expiring December 31st, 2020.Unfortunately, residents now experiencing Covid 19 hardships were most likely already burdened with the high cost of housing (relative to income and wages). While those you are able to assist will most likely accept your aid with gratitude and appreciation, theirlong term security will be dependent on efforts to secure low income and "truly" affordable housing.

May this be just the beginning in our work to overcome the dread of homelessness experienced by so many "working" families and individuals every month, every year.
Sincerely,

We Thrive in Riverside Renters Association
