Congratulations to Monique Sheffield!

The New District 4 Commissioner; We, the Community Must Hold Her Accountable

Yesterday the Cobb County Board of Elections finalized the results of our district's race to be passed on to the Georgia Secretary of State's office for the final certification.

Monique Sheffield is the new Commissioner for District 4.

As she takes her oath of office, I will make my pledge to our community. I will pull every zoning applications submitted to the county holding her accountable for all the mishaps she will nod her head to for our community. I will look for all the ills that I truly believe she will bring to our community and put them before the community for review. And if I'm wrong I'm not above apologizing.

I welcome you to drive around our community, even the entire district, and notice all the yellow zoning signs. I can't lay this at Monique Sheffield's feet. Lisa Cupid has allowed more zoning signs to be placed in this district in the 3 1/2 months she has left in office than the entire eight years she has served. Some of them you can read, some you can't, by design. What's up with that? I beg of you, every yellow sign you see, please stop and read them. Some are good decisions but most are bad and not fit for our community. I plan to spend time with Cobb's Planning & Zoning departments to learn all the ins and outs to be able to fulfill my pledge to this community.

Well, Monique Sheffield we've got work to do! You got the job and I plan to make absolutely sure that you do it. Congratulations and saddle up, for its going to be a bumpy ride. Let's see if you can stay in the saddle and bring development that improves the quality of life for all residents in District 4 since your mentor & saviour could not and did not. Congratulations, it will soon become time to go to work!
