When I'm wrong I have no problem admitting, I'm wrong. Something taught to me by my mother, which is a quality most people do not have and will not do.
During the campaigning for the next person to represent District 4 Monique Sheffield was not my choice. I never really heard of her until the campaigning started and she showed up to run. So, of course, I had my candidate, whom I believed was the best person for the job. When my candidate didn't win I was crushed, but life goes on.
I attended a Board of Commissioners' meeting last month to speak about ongoing issues with Cobb DOT passing their responsibilities and job duties onto homeowners. That's a story I will cover in another article. It needs to be brought forth to make the public aware of Cobb DOT's selective services in the county. I expressed my anger concerning services Cobb DOT should provide, but are not providing. I must say I was very surprised and impressed when Commissioner Sheffield contacted me the very next day addressing my issues. Not only did she contact me the very next day, she resolved two of the issues within a two day period. That's representation! The type of representation that requires her being complimented on the swift action she took to make sure the issues were addressed. She also stayed in contact with me via email to make sure the issues were addressed to my satisfaction.

I was wrong and I seriously owe her an apology. When campaigning you always want your candidate to win, no harm intended. I appreciate the fact that she didn't take it personal once the campaigning was over. It's still early, but I have faith, she will rise to the occasion based on my recent interactions with her.
Please join me in congratulating her in her new role as our District 4 Commissioner!
