Mableton Woman Receives Atlanta Bar Association Leadership Award
The award is given to the ABA member who inspires by example, challenges by her deeds and reminds all members of their debt to the legal profession and surrounding community.

The Atlanta Bar Association is pleased to announce that Mableton resident Dawn Jones of King & Spalding is the most recent recipient of its Leadership Award.
The Leadership Award is given to an Atlanta Bar Association member who inspires by their example, challenges by their deeds and reminds all members of their debt to the legal profession and surrounding community.
The Leadership Award Luncheon was held in April, at the Piedmont Driving Club, with a tribute to Jones by Seth D. Kirschenbaum of Davis, Zipperman, Kirschenbaum & Lotito.

“Dawn’s extraordinary and selfless leadership exemplifies what we seek to honor with this award,” stated Atlanta Bar President Rita A. Sheffey. “Among the many organizations benefitting from Dawn’s leadership are the Atlanta Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and the Multi-Bar Leadership Council.”
Jones is a senior attorney in King & Spalding’s Tort and Environmental Practice Group with more than a decade of critical care nursing experience. She now applies her medical training and background to defend manufacturers of pharmaceutical products and consumer goods in product liability lawsuits. Prior to joining King & Spalding, Jones served as an Associate General Counsel for the Grady Health System. She received a J.D. degree from Georgia State University College of Law, an M.S. degree from Georgetown University and a B.S. degree from the University of Virginia.

During the Leadership Luncheon, the Atlanta Bar Association also recognized Lori L. Garrett of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association as the recipient of the 2011 Multi-Bar Leadership Council (MBLC) Seth D. Kirschenbaum Diversity Award. The Seth Kirschenbaum Award, named in honor of the MBLC’s founder and the 2001 President of the Atlanta Bar, recognizes a member of the State Bar of Georgia who embodies the MBLC mission of fostering meaningful and positive interaction among diverse members of the State Bar. Dawn Jones also is a past recipient of this award.
