Masked Gunmen Fatally Shoot Marietta Man At Cobb Apartments: Police
Roland Milton III, 29, of Marietta was gunned down by masked men Wednesday at Austell apartments, authorities say.

AUSTELL, GA -- The man shot dead Wednesday outside an apartment complex close to Austell has been identified, according to Cobb County police. The victim is 29-year old Roland Milton III of Marietta, authorities said Thursday.
Four men in ski masks opened fire on Milton, Cobb police spokeswoman Alicia Chilton said in a news release. The incident happened before noon at the Crescent Square Apartments in the 2000 block of Austell Road.

Officers responding to the call arrived to find Milton deceased at the scene, Chilton told Patch in an email. The call was received at 11:34 a.m. "regarding a person shot outside an apartment complex," she said.
"There is one male deceased on the scene. Still a very active scene. I am on scene, and detectives are actively working the investigation," Chilton said Wednesday shortly after the brazen shooting occurred.

In addition to the ski masks, the gunmen wore dark-colored clothing and white gloves. All four had guns and fled before police arrive, authorities said.
Neighbors congregated after the shooting, concerned about the area's safety, according to local news media. Witnesses told them that the shooting was preceded by an argument of some kind.
