Man Shot Near Cobb County RaceTrac With Child In Backseat: Police
One man was found shot in a car at a RaceTrac gas station on Austell Road at Elmwood Drive with an 8-year-old child in the backseat.
COBB COUNTY, GA — One man was found shot in his car at a Cobb County RaceTrac gas station Saturday — with an 8-year-old child in the backseat, Cobb police said.
The shooting occurred just before 3 p.m. Saturday, Cobb police spokesperson Sgt. Wayne Delk said, near the RaceTrac on Austell Road at Elmwood Drive.
Officers found Brian Lamar Sclafford-Clemons, 37, in his car — which had also been shot numerous times — with a gunshot wound and in critical condition, Delk said. An 8-year-old child was in the backseat as well, but was not shot and received minor injuries from debris.

Sclafford-Clemons was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries.
