New Tex-Mex Restaurant Coming to Cumberland Area

SOUTH COBB, GA -- A new Tex-Mex restaurant is going to sauce things up in the Cumberland area early next year.

Chuy’s Tex-Mex is opening near Cumberland Mall in February, the eatery's third location in metro Atlanta, the restaurant said in a news release.

The Austin, Texas-based chain is known for its signature sauces and funky decor, including a nacho bar served out of a car trunk. But its hand-made tortillas have a serious following in the Southwest.

Chuy's joins a crowded restaurant market in the Cumberland area, including Chipotle, Fresh to Order and Maggiano's.

Other locations in the metro area include a Chuy's in Kennesaw and one in Dunwoody near Perimeter Mall. The restaurant chain began in Austin in 1982.
