Pedestrian Crossing To Open Near Lindley Middle School: GDOT
A new traffic signal and crosswalk island were installed earlier this month, and GDOT will be monitoring it for 30 days before it goes live.

COBB COUNTY, GA — Lindley Middle School students, parents, employees and other Veterans Memorial Parkway pedestrians will now be able to cross the street more safely.
The Georgia Department of Transportation installed a new overhead flashing traffic signal and crosswalk island earlier this month, located at Veterans Memorial Parkway between Kitchens Road and Club Drive.
GDOT, which funded the pedestrian improvements, is monitoring the equipment for 30 days before it goes live April 27, GDOT officials said. Transportation documents show the total estimated cost is just shy of $152,500.

Pedestrians will be able to press the crosswalk button to activate the traffic signal, alerting oncoming drivers to slow and stop. GDOT crews also installed additional signage at the crosswalk to make drivers aware that pedestrians may cross.
