Rental assistance needed before covid 19 crisis

Entry level workers, essential workers and anyone who makes less than $40,000 a year will not be able to keep up with rent over $1,000/month

Cobb County rental assistance program presented by Commissioner Cupid voted against 3-2 at Cobb Commissioner meeting on 9/8/2920

This is my statement

I support Commissioner Cupid on her effort to bring another rental assistance program to Cobb County. I agree with her that due to the overwhelming response of residents who need rental assistance it would be beneficial to have more than one rental assistance provider.
I am disappointed that the rental assistance proposal that Commissioner Cupid presented did not pass, however I do wish that funding for more rental assistance was in place prior to Covid 19. Renters in Cobb County have been suffering from not being able to keep up with rent for a very long time. Low wages, entry level wages can not keep up with $1,000 a month rents.
We are going to see the affects from Covid 19 for a very long time.
