Senior Citizen's Home In Cobb Sprayed With Bullets: Reports

The Austell home of an elderly woman was sprayed with bullets recently. Her son believes the shooting was random.

AUSTELL, GA -- A senior citizen's home in Cobb County was sprayed with gunfire this week, but a relative believes the shooting was random, according to news reports. The incident happened Monday night on Jones Road around 10 p.m., according to news reports.

For now, no one knows why a gunman, maybe two, opened fire on the modest brick structure that Linda Schnall has called home for nearly 30 years. The woman's son, a retired Georgia State Patrol trooper, told local media that the shooting has got to be a case of mistaken identity. “I'm confident this was a random act of someone just targeting the wrong house,” Larry Schnall told WSB-TV.

Images of the home on social media show huge pock marks in the bricks. Windows were also reportedly shot out. For her part, Linda Schnall was so rattled by the sudden gunfire that she fell out of her bed.

“She was startled so much, she tried to get out of bed, and the violent explosions caused her to lose her step and fall to the floor,” her son said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
