1 Dead, 5 Injured In Shooting At DeKalb Gas Station

DeKalb County police say about 30 shots were fired into a crowd outside a gas station near a smoke shop in Stone Mountain.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — One person is dead and five others were injured late Sunday night after a gunman open fired into a crowd outside a DeKalb County gas station.

DeKalb County Police Department officials said as many as 30 shots were fired into the crowd outside a Chevron gas station near The Connoisseur Smoke Shop in Stone Mountain around 9:40 p.m. Sunday, injuring five men and one woman. Police said an unknown car was driving south on South Hairston Road when someone began shooting out of the car.

The six victims were taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Earl Adams, 60, was one of the victims. DeKalb County police said he died of his injuries at the hospital. The other victims are said to be stable, but no other information about them was provided.

Police don't have a description of the vehicle involved or any suspects at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.
