Man Charged In Double Shooting At DeKalb Gas Station: Sheriff

A Stone Mountain man was arrested and charged with two counts of malice murder in connection with a DeKalb gas station shooting in April.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the Cobb County Sheriff's Office, arrested a suspect for the fatal shooting of two men at a Stone Mountain gas station in April.

Sheriff's investigators arrested Hakeem Ross, 29, of Stone Mountain on Tuesday, at a Powder Springs home, in connection with the April deaths of Jamitre Weaver and Gerico Floyd, the DeKalb sheriff's office said in a news release. Ross is charged with two counts of malice murder.

Arrest warrants indicate Ross and Weaver were arguing at a gas station at the intersection of Redan and Panola roads when the shootings occurred. Weaver died on the scene and Floyd died at Hillandale Hospital, authorities said.

Sheriff's investigators took Ross to the DeKalb County Jail, where he remains without bond.
