Bank Robber On Run After Heists In Stone Mountain, Ellenwood

The FBI is searching for the woman who held up a credit union Monday and tried to rob a bank.

ATLANTA, GA — The FBI is asking the public for tips in tracking down a woman who tried to rob a bank Monday in Stone Mountain, and then held up a credit union in Ellenwood. The law enforcement agency released surveillance photos Thursday of the robber, described as a black woman in her late 20s to early 30s.

The first incident occurred at about 10 a.m., when the woman tried to rob the Wells Fargo bank at 6063 Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain.

The robber showed a bank teller a “demand” note on her cell phone, the FBI said in a statement. When she was denied the money, she walked out of the bank.

At about 11 a.m. Monday, the same woman entered the Associated Credit Union at 5032 Old Grant Road in Ellenwood and again demanded money. "This time the robber was provided an undisclosed amount of money," the FBI said.

The robber left the credit union without further incident. She is described as about 5 feet 7 inches in height with a slender build and long black hair. She was wearing a black coat, black wool cap, black sunglasses, black gloves, black boots and a dark-colored messenger bag, the FBI said.
