FBI Captures Fugitive In Lithonia After Cop-Dragging Assault
A New Jersey man who admitting dragging a police officer with a car fled before his sentencing, authorities say. He was found in Lithonia.

LITHONIA, GA — FBI agents in Georgia have apprehended a Newark, New Jersey, man who dragged a police officer for nearly 50 feet with his car during a chase. On Wednesday, Atlanta FBI agents and the DeKalb County Police Department arrested Donnell Cook, 27, at a residence in Lithonia.
Cook failed to appear for sentencing at the Middlesex County Superior Court in New Brunswick, NJ, on Sept. 29. He previously pleaded guilty to second-degree aggravated assault of a police officer stemming from a vehicle pursuit where the officer was dragged, according to authorities.
A federal unlawful flight to avoid prosecution warrant was obtained after the initial fugitive investigation indicated that Cook had fled to the metro Atlanta area, authorities said.
