Florida Evacuee, 10, Struck And Killed By Vehicle During Altercation In Stone Mountain: ICYMI
A 10-year-old boy fleeing Hurricane Irma was killed by a vehicle during a commotion in Stone Mountain involving his mom and another woman.

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA -- A 10-year-old fleeing Hurricane Irma was killed Monday when he was struck by a vehicle during an altercation involving his mother and another woman, according to news reports. The boy, identified as Timothy Jones, reportedly, got in the middle of the fight.

The boy's mother has been identified as 30-year-old Shyra Slack.. She suffered minor injuries in the incident, according to media outlets.

Authorities identified the woman who struck the pair as 26-year-old Brianna Robertson of Stone Mountain, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The woman is not expected to be charged, police said.

Robertson “was trying to get away from a situation where she thought she was going to be harmed," police told WSB-TV. “Apparently, she felt it was an unsafe place to be so she left in a vehicle."
