DEKALB COUNTY, GA — After an altercation Monday morning between a man and a Texaco gas station clerk that ended with one fatally shot, the store clerk has been charged with murder, reported WSB-TV. Police said the victim, 50-year-old John Lamar, was unarmed when Amir Javed, 26, shot him. He's being charged with malice murder.

WSB-TV said that police reviewed surveillance video from the gas station, but won't release it because it's a part of the investigation. Police said after watching the video, however, they decided to move forward with the charges.

According to WSB-TV, the incident took place at the Texaco gas station on the 5200 block of Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain around 1:45 a.m. The store’s employee reported the shooting and officers on the scene found a man’s body on the ground, police told WSB-TV. The clerk was working an overnight shift and was taken into police custody for questioning on Monday.
