Mega Millions Winner Is Offered a Limo to Shop

Stone Mountain's Ira Curry can start spending her jackpot prize in Buckhead with the help of a free day's chauffeured ride.

By Bob Pepalis

If Stone Mountain's Ira Curry needs help figuring out where to shop after winning $173 million in the Mega Millions lottery game, the Buckhead Coalition has the answer.

Former Atlanta Mayor Sam Massell, who heads the Coalition, said the nonprofit civic group has arranged to have her chauffeured to as many local retailers as she can fit in a full day.

“We’re obviously pleased with the national publicity Ira Curry’s relationship to our Buckhead Community is generating as a result of her historic lottery ticket, purchased here," Massell said in his message today, Dec. 20. "Although she will certainly receive many offers to partner with investors, we just want to thank her by increasing the benefit of her win."

Curry bought her ticket in the Alliance Center on Lenox Road in Buckhead a week ago, near where she works as a property underwriting manager for an insurance company.

"We have arranged with Lenox Limo a full day’s limousine service to and from Ms. Curry’s Stone Mountain residence with visits to as many of the retailers in Buckhead’s 28 square miles she chooses to select. A day for her to ‘shop til she drops’, so to speak," Massell said.
