Stone Mountain Bank Robber Gets Small Payday: Cops

Detectives are still trying to figure out the gender of the suspect, who only got away with $150.

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA — Gwinnett County authorities are looking for a bank robber who hit a bank in Stone Mountain on Thursday, Aug. 23. It was around 2:15 p.m. that day at the Wells Fargo in the 1800 block of Rockbridge Road when the robber entered the bank, according to reports.

The suspect demanded money from a teller, saying they were off their medications and would kill everybody there if they did not comply, according to CBS46 and other reports.

“The note demanded cash,” Cpl. Michele Pihera, spokeswoman for the Gwinnett County Police Department, said, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post. “The bank employee describes the suspect as a black male, but the lead detective assigned to the case feels that there is a possibility that the suspect could be a woman disguised as a man.”
