Stone Mountain Fine Art Christmas Cards

Award-Winner Olivia Thomason's Originals Celebrate Local Traditions

Christmas cards as nice as a traditional gift? Examine Stone Mountain artist Olivia Thomason's beautiful creations and you behold paintings filled with color, imagination, nostalgia and love of community. For the award-winner, these come naturally, something she has been doing for many years. "My first Christmas cards were for large corporations based primarily in Atlanta," she said. "Then, I started painting cards that reflected both my community here in Stone Mountain and memories from childhood in Western North Carolina."

Two cards available this year display Olivia's penchant for whimsy and a yearning for those days of Christmas past when song, dance, carols and even ice skating seemed omnipresent. Based on larger painting originals (now in prestigious private collections), she created fine art cards with matching envelopes that serve, she says, a dual purpose. "Sending a traditional card says more than messages through emails and Facebook. The wishes are personal and poignant. Many people tell me they frame these."

Costs? $29.00 for a box of 12.
