The shade growing project at Hairston Park is coming along nicely.
Last year, Patch wrote about the effort -- part of Nalley Automotive's three-year, 10,000 tree campaign -- which has the goal to increase forest canopy in Decatur and Dekalb County by planting 10,000 seedlings.
Growing in one area of the park are loblolly pine, Southern red oak, tulip-poplar, swamp white oak, green ash, and blackgum trees.
