3 Killed In Mount Prospect Rollover Crash: Police
All lanes on Rand Road (Route 12) were closed throughout Sunday as an investigation continues.
MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — Three people were killed Sunday morning following a two-car rollover crash with entrapment on Rand Road (Route 12) and Mt. Prospect Road in Mount Prospect. An investigation is ongoing and police are seeking witnesses to the crash.
The three people that died in the crash are Francisco Javier Flores Perez, 31, Georgina Perez Gomez, 59, and Francisco Flores Rodriguez, 58, all of Des Plaines, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. They were traveling together in the accident.
Police arrived at the crash scene at around 7:44 a.m. and found a white-colored Honda sedan with heavy damage and a gold-colored Ford SUV, which had heavy front-end damage and rolled over onto its roof. The deceased were found dead in the Honda, according to police.

A preliminary investigation found the Honda was traveling southbound from the exit of Mt. Prospect Plaza when the Ford, traveling northwest on Rand Road from Central Road, entered the intersection and struck the Honda.
The impact of the crash caused the Ford to roll over and come to rest on its roof. The driver of the Ford was taken to a local hospital after being extricated from the vehicle by the Mount Prospect Fire Department.

The traffic crash is currently being investigated by the Mount Prospect Police Department Major Crash Investigation Team, along with the assistance from the Major Case Assistance Team’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team, according to a release from police. All lanes of Rand Road (Route 12) were opened at 5 p.m.
