Annual Tree Lighting Event To Be Held Virtually On Tuesday
The no in-person event will be held at North School Park and available for viewings on social media platforms.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Village and Arlington Heights Park District's traditional Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held virtually this year. There will be no in-person event held at North School Park.
In a year of canceled events, the Village's Special Events Commission, along with Village and Park District staffs, are planning to keep this holiday tradition shining bright with a Virtual Tree Lighting event that is currently being taped, according to a press release. The Virtual Tree Lighting will air at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24 and residents can watch it on the social media platforms for the Village and Park District, the Village's cable access TV channel and https://www.vah.com/. The virtual ceremony will provide behind-the-scenes footage as well as aerial views of North School Park, Harmony Park and Downtown. The village's picturesque community serves as the perfect backdrop for a happy and healthy holiday season.
During the holidays amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Village encourages everyone to be a Good Neighbor and support local businesses and restaurants during the holiday season. The Village said in the release it greatly appreciates the support of the business community as well as residents who may be facing a difficult time.
