Arlington Heights Discussing Pot Shops: Take Our Survey
Recreational marijuana has been legal in Illinois since January. Several towns are reconsidering their "no" votes on allowing its sale.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — There's no denying that the legalization of recreational marijuana in Illinois six months ago has been a big hit. Cannabis consumers statewide have spent well over $300 million since January on weed, according to estimates.
Now, many municipalities that were originally lukewarm to allowing recreational marijuana dispensaries in their towns are reconsidering their initial "no" votes. The Arlington Heights Village Board and the Highland Park City Council were set to discuss cannabis at Monday meetings.
