Arlington Heights Farmers Market Season Begins June 3
You will find fresh produce of the season, artisanal cheese, homemade pastries, freshly roasted coffee, handmade crafts, and much more.

From AH Historical Museum: It’s that time a year again! Starting Saturday, June 3 (7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.), the commuter parking lot across from the Arlington Heights Historical Museum on Vail Ave. and Fremont St. transforms into a bustling market full of fresh produce of the season, artisanal cheese, homemade pastries, freshly roasted coffee, handmade crafts, and much more.
Local farmers with produce picked hours before, an Arlington Heights micro-farm, a vertical hydroponic and
organic farmer and specialty bakers are just some of the returning and new vendors at the market this
year.
The University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners will also be on hand to answer your gardening
questions. In addition to vendors, music from local artists entertains market-goers while shopping, a monthly
children’s craft table will be available, and the beloved Arlington Club soda that was first produced across the
street 130 years ago returns to quench the thirst of shoppers.

The Arlington Heights Historical Society will continue to manage the Farmers Market for the fourth year and will be introducing special events throughout the season. “We’re celebrating the Society’s 60th Anniversary this year with free tours of the historic buildings the last weekend of the month during the Farmers Market season. We hope our community will visit the museum and explore our history this summer,” says Gloria Amling, AHHS president. The buildings will be open from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and the public will have a chance to tour the turn-ofthe-century homes of the once prominent Müller and Banta families–both homes are fully furnished to period. In addition to the homes, the Coach House and reproduction log home introduces visitors to the time when Arlington Heights was just a farming community. Visit www.ahmuseum.org for the complete Open House list of dates.
The Arlington Farmers Market runs from June 3-October 14, every Saturday from 7 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The market is an ever changing experience as new produce becomes available throughout the growing season and new events are planned throughout the year. Check out vendors and events at www.ahfarmersmarket.org. For more information about the Farmers Market or how to become a vendor, call the Museum at 847-255-1225.
