Arlington Heights Football Players Receive All-State Honors

John Hersey and Saint Viator high schools were among the local schools represented on the coaches' list following the spring campaign.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Few people understand football players more than their coaches. That's why the honor of being named to the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association All-State Teams is a special one.

Football players from across the state of Illinois were recently voted to the list following a shortened spring campaign, which was preceded by a postponed fall season for 2020-2021.

The following local players were voted to the all-state teams by the IHSFCA:

2020-2021 IHSFCA ALL-STATE TEAM 5A

  • Jeremiah Pittman (6-foot, 275 pounds), senior, DL/OL, Saint Viator, coached by Dave Archibald

2020-2021 IHSFCA ALL-STATE TEAM 7A

  • Ian Ridge (5-foot-9, 175 pounds), senior, RB, Elk Grove High School, coached by Miles Osei
  • Ryan Gudaitis (6-foot-4, 265 pounds), senior, OL/DL, John Hersey High School, coached by Joe Pardun
  • Luke Zardzin (6-foot-4, 220 pounds), senior, RB/LB, Prospect High School, coached by Dan DeBoeuf
