Arlington Heights Hosts National Night Out

Arlington Heights received national recognition for the annual National Night Out which ranked 7th in Illinois in 2016.

From The Village of Arlington Heights: The event will take place Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 at North School Park 410 N. Arlington Heights Rd. from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The National Association of Town Watch, ADT, Associa, King’s Hawaiian, Dietz & Watson, and Ring sponsor this event nationally.

The Village of Arlington Heights event has received national recognition every year since 2005. Our

event is compared to other events in jurisdictions with populations between 50,000 and 99,000. The
Arlington Heights NNO celebration has moved up the rankings each year. In 2016, our event was
ranked 7th nationally and the highest in Illinois for our category.

National Night Out will be bigger and better in 2017. The following are a small sample of what will be
part of the event:

The Arlington Heights Police Department K-9 unit will conduct a full demonstration which
includes bite work and a felony vehicle extraction. There will also be police representatives from
the following specialty assignments: Accident Reconstruction, Animal Welfare, Bicycle unit,
Child Safety Seat technicians, Crime Prevention, Crisis Intervention, Honor Guard, Problem
Oriented Policing, Financial Crimes, Forensics, Northern Illinois Police Alarm System
(N.I.P.A.S), Recruitment Team and Victim Services.

The Arlington Heights Fire Department will conduct a rappelling demonstration. They will also
have several vehicles on display as well as an interactive smoke house. IL Chip Program will provide parents with a free disc containing their child’s fingerprints, photograph and voice sample. A DNA sample can also be requested.

The Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT) command vehicle will be included this year. The Arlington Heights Police Department Traffic Unit will display their equipment and motorcycles.

The Arlington Heights Park District will provide free beverages and food items, children’s games,
bounce houses, face painting, business expo and other fun activities. The Illinois Conservation Police will be bringing vehicles and an interactive display trailer. There will be much more than what was listed above. For additional information contact:
