LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 23-year-old Arlington Heights man died Saturday night after being pulled from the water while boating on Chain O' Lakes, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Alcohol might have been a factor in the accident, the law enforcement agency said in a statement Sunday.

According to authorities, the sheriff's Marine Unit responded to a call of an unresponsive person at the Petite Lake Sandbar around 5:05 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Petite Lake Sandbar. The man, whose identity has not been released, had already been pulled out of the water by the time deputies arrived, the sheriff's office said.

Once at the scene, deputies performed CPR on the man and used an automated external defibrillator while they waited for paramedics, according to the sheriff's office. The man was then taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was pronounced dead, the agency added.
